I may hate FedEx BUT…
I do so love the things they bring me!
You see i have a love hate relationship with our local FedEx delivery. Why you ask? Because they can’t seem to find my house… EVER! I live right on a main highway, i have given them directions i don’t know how many time as to how to get here i even once hung red balloons from the mail box and still, they couldn’t find me. They say i have to give them my “physical address” Well i gave them the only address i have. I even went to the local post office that delivers my mail and asked them if they could tell me what my physical address was. I was happy no one other than me and the two postal workers were their at the time, i swear every time they see me they start laughing. You see i live in the country, no 911 in my county, no street address, no fancy numbers to put out on the mailbox. Just a Rural Route and a box number that FedEx says is a post office box not a home address. I hate FedEx. Why is UPS can find my and FedEx can’t? Why is it they can find my next door neighbor’s house, who has the same type of address i have, but they can’t FIND ME!
Stop,
Breath.
Count to ten,
Take a deep breath,
With life gives you lemons, make a Margaretta… or three!
Anyway, thanks to my aunt working in the local town i am able to have them drop shipments off with her, cause they can find her. But they can’t find little old me in the only blue house on this stretch of highway, that is in drastic need of painting, With the larger than average black mail box with Red lettering, that has the same junk car setting in the driveway at all time, has a big old ugly dog in a homemade kennel next to the drive way, a sidewalk that seems like a mile long when i am packing in groceries every Saturday, and at least a dozen cats sleeping on said sidewalk.
Saturday “they” were supposed to deliver a package for me, i knew it wouldn’t arrive. They couldn’t get into my aunt’s office, the school is closed on Saturdays after all. They did however leave it at my Aunts office this morning and this is what i got….
Ten New Cricut Cartridges! All on sale of course! Purchased online at www.cricutmachien.com if you have a Cricut you should check the site out, they have GREAT, and i mean GREAT DEALS! The most expensive one in this order cost me only 18.00! Most of them were only 15.00!
Now to get my room finished so i can actually use the things!
Is it really that hard to get a new cell phone???
Why does it take so much work to get a newer, more “Me” kind of cell phone? First I went directly to my carriers store to check out all the new models and such in cell phones today. I was given some brochures to tell me all the grand details of the new phones they were pushing that week and everything they gave me only made me more confused! I mean really, isn’t there a single cell phone out there that does what cell phones are supposed to do… make phone calls! I don’t need a mp3 player, I already have one, I don’t need a video player I like my large screen HDTV when it comes to watching moves not a little 4 inch model. I don’t need a video game player, as you might have noticed from a past post I already have more than one of those. I don’t need a camera, ok a new camera is always nice but I would rather have one that isn’t in my cell phone. I don’t need it to come in any fancy colors or ring a favorite song, I just need a phone! So home to the internet I go, Why did I think the internet would make things less confusing? I searched and I read for nearly a month, no I’m not joking, it took nearly every day for at least a hour for a month, before I decided it didn’t matter what I wanted I was going to have to take what was the “Best New Thing in Cell Phones Today” weather I wanted it or not. So at that point I decided if I was going to have to have a few of the oh so great features I was going to get the ones I wanted and if I had to have a fancy color then it had best be one I could stand looking at every day. Well the first thing I knew I really didn’t want was a music phone, this would be total wasted on me as well as a video player I would never ever use these two things so why have them. Luckily for me when I removed all the phones that had these wonderful features I really narrowed the list down. The list now contained simple camera phones also something I didn’t need but there was really no way to get around this feature, and some little handheld computer looking phones. well I tossed out the ones that looked way to complicated and all that was left was the camera phones. in varying colors styles and prices ranging from a mere $50.00 to $200.00Taking some time to read the details of each phone I narrowed it down to three phones. At this point I was total brain dead when it came to phone details. So I picked the one I liked the looks of best A pink Razr V3 camera phone. Easy to use, my favorite color, a camera I didn’t really need, and the ability to add my own ring tones.
So on Saturday I ordered my new phones (one for me one for my aunt) Sunday morning, check my email only to discover that my card was not excepted. not because It was over drawn or anything like that but because I put down the wrong billing address for the card I used. The address didn’t match so it must not have been my card right??? So after a call to (that took a good 45 minutes b the way) I was able to straighten this problem out. Sunday night another email, this one from FedEx telling me my home address did not exist and I need to provide them with a correct one. Well excuse me, I must have made another mistake I mean I have only lived in the same house all but the first 8.5 months of my life, I’m sure I was incorrect about the address I provided!!! So I go and reentered the same address again, along with a secondary delivery address and just in case my home phone number. That way I knew I was covered. It wasn’t ten minutes I received a confirmation email saying the package should be deliver to my home by 7:00pm Wednesday. Great, sounds good., right??? WRONG!!!
Wednesday morning, setting on the couch in front of the TV drinking my coffee, I decided I would check the shipping stats of the package. So I pulled out the trusty laptop and typed in all the info. Imagine to my surprise when I see a message saying that the package was ready for pickup at the FedEx location 20 minutes away. Hello! delivery! I thought that meant it was supposed to show up on my doorstep, delivered by a delivery person that smelled somewhat like cardboard and was dressed in the wonderfully look FedEx uniform. At this point I was so not in the mood to deal with this bull ?@$#, and I pulled out the phone and made a call, asked why my package would not be delivered as promised, I mean I provided a secondary address for delivery, I have done this before without a problem when I was out of town. And why didn’t they call me and ask for directions I mean come on you have my home phone number what the @#$% is the big deal?
After a rather short conversation telling me I had to have a street address before they would deliver the package to my home they do not deliver to address that do not contain a street address and that they did not have a second address or my phone number on file so I must be mistaken when I thought I provided one. And even if I had provided a secondary address they would not deliver it there as that was not allowed. So after a trip to town I went inside the building with a smile on my face, asked to speak to the person who handled my call earlier and ever so politely handed them the printout of my info from the FedEx site. Oh, look, there a secondary address… and low and behold a phone number? now I wonder how you missed that? “We aren’t allowed to deliver to a second address and we do not have this number on our files” AAAHHHHHHHHH!!!
After my trip home, I was excited to see my new phone I mean after all the work to get the darn thing it had better be perfect! My aunts was the first out of the box, same phone as mine only in blue, really nice looking I thought as I put the thing together and plugged it in to charge. Mine was next, such a nice pink color not to bright just right I loved it already! Now I just have to transfer all my numbers and info to the new phones how long could that take??? well when you have two phones to deal with it can take a good deal of time, like three hours to transfer the numbers, get the old phones turned off and the new ones turned on. Why do I have some many numbers in my phone??? What ever happened to using a address book for crying out loud! :note to self, purchase a address book Saturday!:
Finally I have my phone, sort of delivered, sort of picked up, sort of a pain in the neck, very glad this experience is over!
Now how do I turn the darn thing on????
